CAPIA is an association of over 40 licensed public adjusters across the state of Connecticut.  While public adjusters follow Ct Dept of Ins guidelines, CAPIA members are held to a high code of conduct and ethics standard established by CAPIA.   Member public adjusters assist in the preparation, presentation, and settlement of first party property insurance claims.  As your advocate, we work with the insurance company adjuster on your behalf, to be sure you receive everything you are entitled to under the terms of the policy.  The claims process is complicated, time consuming, and overwhelming.  Having an experienced public adjuster working for you can save you money and time.

To promote the highest standard of professional and ethical practice in the field of public adjusting and to protect the rights and interest of the policyholder.

A key component of CAPIA’s organization is the legislative work that benefits Connecticut consumers and our profession.  CAPIA’s Legislative Committee and lobbyist are making great strides assuring lawmakers are aware of issues that are important to us and consumers.

CAPIA is a non-profit organization funded through donations and membership fees.  Donations to CAPIA’s general fund are used to further our lobbying in Connecticut.  We continue to maintain our positive relationship with the CT State Insurance Department and utilize their expertise for continuing education of our members.  CAPIA partners with attorneys, restoration companies, and other industries with an interest in the insurance claims process.
