CAPIA is an organization made up of over 40 licensed public insurance adjusters working in our state.  Maintain high standard of professional conduct and efficiency; conduct themselves in a spirit of fairness and justice to their clients, the insurance companies and to the public.

What is a Public Insurance Adjuster?

A Public Adjuster is a licensed professional who works solely for the policy holder.  We assist in the preparation, presentation, and settlement of first party property insurance claims.  As your advocate, we work with the insurance company adjuster on your behalf, to be sure you receive everything you are entitled to under the terms of the policy.  The claims process is complicated, time consuming, and overwhelming.  Having an experienced public adjuster working for you can save you money and time.  Connecticut licensed public adjusters must follow strict guidelines set for by the Connecticut Insurance Department.

Benefits of Hiring a Public Adjuster

Property insurance policies require the insured/policy holder to present their claim to the insurance company.  As Public Adjusters, we are trained in the claims process.  In presenting your claim, we review and evaluate your insurance policy to determine the types of coverage you have.  We then determine the covered damage and document the cost to repair or replace in a format required by the insurance company.

We as public adjusters know the stressful aftermath of suffering a loss.  Knowing that we are working on your behalf to recover every dollar you are entitled to under the policy, brings peace of mind.  Public Adjusters have expertise in different areas of claim presentation, including understanding complex insurance policies and claims.
